I am happy to see you, Wes. [ in that hideously selfish way ] I missed you. [ quickly; ] And, a lot's changed while you were gone. Mostly... not great things.
We should sit, though. [ which is why she's bending down to scoop up the stuff she made him drop ] C'mon. What's your number again?
[he just stands back and leaves her to it, grinning a little. the few things he wants to keep to himself are hidden in his pockets, so all she's left with is a pile of spare clothes.]
Still 199. Guess they wanted to save themselves the hassle of changing the whole tattoo.
[he waits until she's upright again before slinging an arm around her shoulders. no, it's not because he missed her. he's just...guiding the way. yep, that's all.]
You'd better be planning on filling me in. Lehnsherr's too big of a dick to do it right.
Oh, yeah. About that... [ and if her arm finds its way around his waist, it's not because she's feeling clingy, or because talking about Erik makes her feel the need to be even more clingy, or anything like that... no, it's just because it's easier to fall in step with him this way. ]
Erik's not here anymore. He vanished about two jumps ago. Not lost, he just... didn't come back after the jump. [ she shrugs as best as she can, eyes on the space in front of their feet instead of up ahead. ] Like I said, lot's changed.
[he knows what she's about to say from the way she reacts, and his own arm tightens, briefly, in response. they may not've gotten along all that great, but erik mattered to raven, which meant he mattered to him too. in a way.]
Xavier? [because as much as he didn't actually like charles, he still falls in to the same category as erik. another damn mutant who raven seems to be attached to.]
Yes, exactly. [ and she knows he was just being sarcastic, but ] Really, though. We need to stick together, okay?
And I dunno about Smiley. I haven't noticed any new posts, not in a long time, but I might've missed something. You should ask one of the techy people on board, I've no idea.
Hey, you know me. You're stuck with me even if you don't want it.
[see that grin? see it? that's his attempt at shifting the mood back to a lighter one.]
How about you tell me what you've been up to while I was gone instead. [because he'll be spending most of the next day or two reading over everything he can find on the network, regardless.]
Me? Umm. [ I sort of became a hermit after both you and Erik left. lots of alone time. Natasha was gone for a while too, so I trained without her, I kissed Jim Kirk because I'm an idiot, I've got too much energy and nothing to do with it. people keep getting hurt and I don't know how to just accept that there isn't any way to fight it. I watched various crew members get brainwashed at our last outpost and had to pretend to be assimilated too in order to avoid the same fate. and now you're back, so. ]
[ sigh ] There was an outpost, a little while ago, and things went sour... Not with me, I got out okay, but some people ended up getting hurt. The ship's been pretty quiet since then though, really.
[he stays silent for a while, instead opting to get them in to his room first. another couple of doors down and they're at his, and he's wasting no time in opening it up and ushering her in ahead of him.]
So what happened? [no, more important than that.] Who got hurt?

People have been coming and going a lot more recently. Not just jumps, but disappearances. People get lost and never come back, just like that.

[but good. he may not be charles' biggest fan, but for raven's sake, he glad the man is still around. well, men.
How about Smiley? He get up to much while I was away?
